Packman heading back

The path through Packman Wood connecting the Leader Water Path with the old A68 has been closed since the woodland was destroyed by Storm Arwen and then by subsequent forestry operations.

It was clear felled and has now been replanted, contractors having done a good job avoiding the grass path.

Earlston Paths Group volunteers now hope to reopen the Packman within the next couple of months. The grass path is in reasonable condition and our volunteers have taken off the loose sticks, branches etc however the old top section is a mud bath and the plan is to put down hardcore to solve the problem.

Update to follow once work completed.
