20th Anniversary AGM

At the recent Paths Group AGM we took the opportunity to celebrate our 20th Anniversary with our very own "Oscar's."

Two wooden way marker arrow awards recognised the contributions made by Bill Bryson and Ruth Gregory, important members of Earlston Paths Group with 20 years service to the community, volunteering with us in all sorts of ways.

The bottle of bubbles thanked Roy Todd not only for his work keeping our book sales front and centre in the Melrose Chest Heart and Stroke Shop but for his long term commitment and community service.

Last but not least the third award recognised Tom McGhee who has given up huge amounts of his time over the last 15 years working with Ian on all sorts of path maintenance, especially the marathon grass cutting each year.

Not to be left out Sheila Gibb received a surprise bottle of fizz from Chairman, Luke Cumins, in recognition of her work done to promote Paths Group online and on social media (like now).

Note to editors:

Admin assistant, driver, listener to paths chat etc. etc. and supporter of Secretary and co-founder Ian Gibb since 1982, not just 20 years of the Paths!! Long service award must be in the post.

It was also time to elect the Committee for the next two years.

No surprises with Luke remaining as Chair and Emma Gordon as Treasurer.

Secretary's stunning acceptance of nomination for next two years was confirmed once he'd reviewed the situation.

No fool like an old fool.

Blame the Earlston HS after the fabulous production of the musical Oliver last month.
