BORDERS CONNECTIONS

A group of friends from Australia, Ireland, Mexico, Poland, Scotland and South Africa, visiting the Leaderfoot Viaduct Viewpoint, were among the first people to pick up the new edition of our very popular information leaflets:

Earlston and the Leader Water (Carolside to the River Tweed) and Bridges Across Time.

Part funded by Transport Scotland's Active Travel Fund, administered by SCottish Borders Council, and ourselves; the work was undertaken by our Secretary with printing, as always, by our longtime collaborators Footprinte in Jedburgh.

This is the third time we've revised and reprinted the leaflets since originally launched in 2018 by the late Duke of Roxburghe, beside our Leaderfoot shelter and panels: located very close to

the River Tweed.

The Paths Group continues to promote active travel opportunities, in particular walking and outdoor tourism, through our publication “Country Walks around Earlston” and these leaflets.

All combine to encourage people to explore our countryside, heritage as well as the visitor attractions in our area: supporting the local economy.

Anyone can pick up a copy of these colourful and informative leaflets from the leaflet dispensers, which are kept well stocked, at the Leaderfoot viewpoint.

Country Walks Around Earlston is available from local outlets in Earlston and at the Chest, Heart and Stroke shop in Melrose.
