Iomhar Maciver from Beltane Studios was out of action after breaking his foot, meaning a delay in fixing our direction finder on the Black Hill seat in place, replacing the so called drinks tray!
It took two strong men, Iomhar with his friend Alan Vannan (+sort of Ian), to carry the very heavy cast bronze disc to the summit on a nice, calm day - weather conditions at the top were quite different.
Once they conquered the storm force gale it was mission accomplished, then a gentle stroll down while admiring the views.
Last Saturday, taking full advantage of the exceptional weather, another expedition finally completed our project celebrating twenty years hard work of Earlston Paths Group.
It was a much more enjoyable outing with fine, sunny weather and time to relax after the hot climb, enjoying the views before work, following the specific instructions provided by Ordnance Survey to repaint the trig point.
The long, hot, slow plod back down to the bottom saw the work finished and the team headed for a nice cool drink and a seat.
