We were delighted when St Boswells Mowers recently offered a heavy-duty grass cutter to help us clear part of the popular Leader Water Path.
Restrictions meant we've not carried out normal maintenance and the path was becoming overgrown in some areas. Ian and Ross Hunter at St Boswells Mowers generously gave us use of a machine, thankfully not the one in the photo but another from their hire equipment that we were able to handle.
A long section of path is now cut making it easier to walk and we'd like to thank them for this generosity: another example of great community spirit from a local family business.
The footpath network has been heavily used during these difficult times for physical and mental well-being, allowing people the opportunity to exercise and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Earlston Paths Group hope that everyone continues to enjoy the walks and asks that “social distancing” rules be respected wherever possible on all footpaths.
