Leader Water Path Improvements

Leader Water Path has seen an enormous number of walkers and cyclists taking advantage of the route since the first lockdown last March with the impact on walking surfaces plain to see and the section at the "amphitheatre" and field entrance towards the old A68 flooded, becoming a mud bath for the first time since we opened the path in 2010.

Now weather has begun to improve we've purchased six tons of gravel to lay on top of membrane and repair the section. We are using some materials left over from previous work so that's saving money.

Thanks to Ian Scott Aiton for moving all the bags this morning - takes away the need for days and days of heavy wheel barrowing.

Work will be completed on this as soon as we can, over the next wee while.

We've already started on the 2021 To Do list by clearing drains at the bottom of both the Diamond Jubilee and Leader Water paths.

Last Saturday we replaced most of the log steps up from the Sorrowlessfield footbridge towards the Leader Water path.
